About Me
My curiosity about the world and my desire to help others began in my early childhood. By high school, I had decided that I wanted to pursue a career in the mental health field. I applied to medical school with the goal of becoming a psychiatrist, skilled in both therapy and medication management. In 2017, I relocated from the midwest to Washington, D.C. to complete my psychiatry residency training. Four years later, I successfully completed my specialty training and passed the board certification exam. I went from a little kid who once toted around a toy medical kit to a psychiatrist eager to embrace the roles of teacher, advocate, and healer.
Psychiatry is a specialty that calls upon us to embrace the art of medicine. It requires thoughtful integration of research-backed evidence and individual human experiences. My aim is to practice medicine in a way that values open curiosity, meaningful relationships, and humility. My approach, whether focusing on therapy or medication, integrates The Perspectives of Psychiatry and Psychodynamic theory. I prioritize patient education, harm reduction, and collaborative decision-making to ensure that you remain at the heart of the treatment process.
